A special little snowflake,
I wanted to be.
Always grabbing for attention,
Or trying to be the definition of different.
Choosing spikes over sparkles,
Or snakes over kittens.
Anything to keep “normal” away from me.
Changing my hair color and even my eyes,
I couldn’t be a regular girl.
People would laugh at me,
People would scorn me.
Yet they didn’t realize how much I was like them.
The outfits and piercing still couldn’t hide,
How “normal” I still felt inside.
